In Start Over Finish Rich, author David Bach details his 10 Steps to Get You Back On Track In 2010. Bach has written a number of books on financial topics and this book was written in 2009. It is an easy read with an abundance of good information. Here is a brief synopsis of the 10 steps.

If you take a look at how most loan officers implement their realtor strategy, you’ll find that a large majority target 1 realtor at a time. This is fine early on as you’re “cutting your teeth” on a new strategy, but ultimately, you can supercharge your results by leveraging your time. Meeting with the sales manager, and offering to add value to his/her office could be the windfall you’ve been looking for.

As my story goes, I eventually did list the home with another realtor who did even less than the first realtor. Our new realtor never held one open house, never ran one ad in a newspaper, the only thing they did for me was put the home in the local MLS. After another 6 months we decided that we just couldn’t stay in state anymore and our financial situation was such that the move was imminent regardless if the house was sold or not. In desperation we put the House for rent and moved out of state where my husband and I found steady work.

Well, if you lack the capacity of a little faith – it is. If you lack the vision required to see something such as the curvature of the earth when all believe it to be flat – it is. If it is impossible for you to understand how this whole universe, trees, atoms, clouds, dogs, people, thoughts, light, are connected and intertwined and ultimately made of the exact same thing – then it is. Albert Einstein said, “It is more important to have imagination than knowledge”.

Try your best to understand try here lingo and look out for key terms. If the home is described as “cozy” then that usually means the place is very small. Describing a home as “as-is” usually means there will need to be a lot of work done on the home. Finding the right agent to work with, will save you a lot of time and effort, when buying a new home. A great sign of a wonderful agent, is when the agent takes the time to listen to you and understands what you need. This life-changing decision should not be made without the help of a professional.

Pets – Some owners and/or buildings do not entertain pets of any kind. If you own a pet, you have to make sure that they would allow it inside the house.
